ICE CANADA BRINGS THE ITALY OF INNOVATION TECNOLOGY TO THE PRESTIGIOUS COLLISION CONFERENCE IN TORONTO

May 20 to 23, at the Enercare Centre in Toronto, High Tech Italy will be featured with 19 companies at one of the most important innovation and technology events in the world, which will be held in Canada for the very first time.

The initiative takes place within the High Tech Special Project, Made in Italy 2017 Extraordinary Plan.

COLLISION, a spinoff of the Web Summit in Lisbon, is the North American version of the main world conference dedicated to innovation and technology, wed, ICT and electronics, which is held annually in different North American cities.

Las Vegas and New Orleans hosted the last 5 years. This year’s 2019 conference, the first ever in Canada, will be held in Toronto.

Toronto was chosen as the location of the exhibition also due to the fact that the GTHA (hinterland) and the Kitchener-Waterloo corridor have won the place of the second most important ITC cluster in North America, after Silicon Valley and the sixth worldwide.

In Canada, there are more than 37,000 companies operating that employ 1.2 million professionals who contribute to the country’s GDP for 73 billion CAD or 4.4 % of the total. 40 % of the ITC sector is concentrated in Ontario.

More than 25,000 participants from 120 countries are expected at COLLISION 2019.
Approximately 6,000 companies will be taking part including IBM, Intel, Amazon, GE, Facebook, Verizon, Salesforce, Coca Cola, Chase, Allianz.

The basis of COLLIOSION’s success is the modern, dynamic format of this event, which involves speakers and well-known personalities, topics including news, art, entertainment, business, and technology and networking opportunities.

There are more than 450 speakers at the 2019 conference in Toronto including: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Mayor of Toronto John Tory, Seth Rogen, Timbaland, Joseph Gordon Levitt, David Eun, CIO, Samsung, Peggy Johnson, Executive VP, Microsoft, Shawn Layden, Chairman, Sony Interactive and others.

Sponsors, partners and exhibitors at the conference include major brands such as BMW, Google, AWS, Siemens, Microsoft, Huawei, Cisco, Altassian and Airbus.

There are also many government agencies for economic development and investment attraction: Failte Ireland, Orlando Economic Partnership, Germany Trade & Invest

“ICE, the Italian Trade Agency, will accompany a delegation of 19 companies, including incubators, accelerators and operators in the industry,” states Matteo Picariello, Director of ICE Canada. “It is the very first time being at COLLISION, and we are very proud of this.
“The objective in participating is to highlight the Italian ITC sector from the viewpoint of technology and innovation, in a very high level context, different from the usual trade shows and industry events, because,” Picariello continues, “today Collison truly represents the absolute cutting edge in the industry, and Italy could not miss in such an important year for Italic ingenuity like 2019 and in a month like May that marks the beginning of the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci,” Matteo Picariello concludes.
